The Richmond Hill Hotel is situated at the edge of Richmond Park in Surrey and boasts commanding views over the River Thames.
The Georgian townhouse has undergone a £6.7 million refurbishment with interiors drawing upon existing characteristics to create clean line silhouettes and an overarching sense of tranquillity. A georgian colour palette was used throughout and Richmond designer blacksmith Joshua de Lisle was commissioned to create bespoke detailing in the bedrooms and en-suite bathroooms.
Newhey produced over 2000 square metres of 80%/20% colortec carpet for the guestroom suites. Feature panel rugs were manufactured in neutrals and blues to compliment the whole scheme. The refurbishment programme was devised by award-winning K&H Design of London who drew upon Richmond’s wider influences that have inspired artists and writers for hundreds of years.
All carpet supplied by Newhey has an eco-friendly secondary backing ‘evobac’. This sustainable backing is applied at the factory in Newhey and is produced from post-consumer recycled PET – this project alone has prevented over 16,000 plastic bottles from going to landfill or entering our oceans – making Newhey Carpets a sustainable choice for specifiers and end-users.
