The design scheme was thoughtfully created by Rachael Robb of John Robb Interiors, Bangor. The carpet was selected and re-coloured through Newhey Express, our online recolouring tool. Newhey Express is a versatile online service which offers a wide range of design styles, low minimum quantities, fast turnaround and competitive prices. All designs within the Express Collection can be easily accessed via the dedicated online design centre. Each design can also be viewed in several pre-defined colourways, alternatively, they can be re-coloured to suit a particular interior scheme. Not only can patterns be selected and colours changed, designs can be viewed in room settings, images can be downloaded for presentation boards and samples can be requested.
We asked Rachel about the design brief for Rosspark and what led her to specify that particular pattern:
“The client wanted a light and luxurious scheme that would appeal to brides-to-be. The space was quite large and therefore needed to be divided up into sections, which is how I arrived at introducing sections of carpet set within the marble effect tiled floor and helped to denote seating areas from general circulation areas. I wanted to introduce a vibe of colour within the scheme but not overdo it.
The existing scheme at the hotel is mainly focused around purple, which is what lead me down the route of developing a purple carpet. I also wanted the carpet to pull in an element of the colours around it, but discreetly, which is why the swirly pattern was a perfect choice. The whole concept of the scheme was based on a very restricted palette, which is why I think the carpet has worked so well… it just sings and brings it all together!”
Whilst many people have been working from home for the last 18 months, the online availability of this tool has really taken off. It’s quick and convenient for clients and gives them the freedom to use wherever they are. Here’s what Racheal had to say about Newhey Express:
“It was very easy to navigate. I found it to be a brilliant tool for being able to change a colour and very quickly see the effect. Such a subtle change in colour can make a huge difference to the overall look, so I found the re-colouring tool invaluable. It’s time efficient in that it allows you to tweak the colours until you’re happy and then submit for a hand trial. Being able to view the design in a virtual room scene I found also hugely beneficial in helping me to visualise the scale and pattern within a space.”
You have an image in your mind of how you think it will look but when I saw it in reality I was blown away. I was one very happy designer. The Newhey Express re-colouring tool, with its virtual room scene, definitely helps to provide you with the confidence in how the finished product will look, but seeing it in reality, both myself and the client were really impressed.”
The fit-out was completed to a high standard by McCue, a project management company based in Carrickfergus.
