Boulevard Hotel, Blackpool

The Boulevard Hotel, Blackpool in Lancashire, is a brand-new £12m seafront property at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. This highly contemporary hotel, in the traditional English resort is managed by Amanda Thompson OBE, MD of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, which was founded by her great grandfather in 1896.

Positioned between the beach and Blackpool Pleasure Beach, the Boulevard Hotel has 120 stylish executive and deluxe-executive rooms, including 18 suites and family rooms. It also caters for conferences, events and celebrations for up to 200 guests.

Newhey Carpets worked closely with architects and designers the Allison Pike Partnership based in Disley, Greater Manchester, to specify and create hospitality carpeting for guestrooms and public areas. The practice is renowned for their attention to detail which prevails throughout their architecture and interiors. This became apparent in their designs and during our collaboration on the Boulevard Hotel project. Interestingly, Amanda Thompson took a personal interest in the interior design, too.

We manufactured over 4,300 sqm of carpets for the Boulevard Hotel’s guestrooms, public areas, al la carte restaurant, American Mediterranean bistro and seafront cocktail bar. Six designs were specified in total ranging from bespoke designed Graphics Tufted carpets from Newhey Express to readily available Colortec carpets.

Newhey Express provides designers with a wide range of stunning archived designs that can be re-coloured from a palette of 100 shades. Competitively priced, orders can also be turned around rapidly in just 4–6 weeks. This gave Allison Pike Partnership the design freedom and quality they required with the knowledge that their distinctive designs would be delivered to schedule.

The practice also specified designs from our off-the-shelf Stock Collections. They were able to select from a vast array of patterns, colours and textures to achieve a look that perfectly fitted with their original designs and colour schemes.

Tremendous creativity, design expertise and attention to detail went into the Boulevard Hotel project. The furniture is hand-stitched Tetrad, the fabrics are from Designers Guild and the wall coverings are by Andrew Martin. Wall-to-wall quality wherever you look.
