Crowne Plaza, Felbridge

Newhey worked closely with DLA Interiors on the £3m refurbishment of The Crowne Plaza, Felbridge Hotel, supplying over 4,500 square metres of bespoke carpet throughout.

Situated close to Gatwick Airport, the 4-star hotel stared life as a small wayside inn, which was purchased by Mr Harry Gatward in 1924 and called Ye Olde Felbridge Hotel. After achieving the InterContinental Hotel Group’s exacting standard requirements, the property has now been converted into a Crowne Plaza

In close consultation with DLA, Newhey designed and manufactured bespoke carpets to all 116 guest bedrooms, including Club Standard Rooms and the exclusive Club Lounge. Corridors, Meeting Rooms, Function Suites and Public Areas together with the Lobby, Reception and Lounge & Bar have also enjoyed major works as part of the overall re-branding of the hotel.

All products were manufactured by Newhey in the UK to meet IHG brand standards. We are proud to further strengthen our links with this major global hotel group which has now seen us supply carpets to most brands within the IHG family, including the InterContinental Park Lane London, Kimpton, Hotel Indigo, Staybridge Suites, Holiday Inn & Holiday Inn Express.

All Newhey products are manufactured with ‘evobac’, a secondary backing made from recycled plastic bottles. Compliant with all standard British and European regulations for flammability and performance, evobac also offers a comprehensive range of benefits for installers including ease of handling, which is guaranteed through decreased risk of scuffing skirting-boards and paintwork. Other key benefits are improved anti-fraying properties, reduced wear on blades when cutting and compatibility with all traditional installation methods.
