Nobu Hotel London Portman Square

Nobu Hotel London Portman Square is a new 5-star luxury lifestyle hotel with exceptional food adjacent to a garden square surrounded by elegant townhouses in Marylebone, central London.

Located on a prominent corner of Portman Square, this highly anticipated opening marks the third collaboration between L+R Hotels and Nobu Hospitality, following the successful launches of Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay and Nobu Restaurant Monte Carlo, and the 13th hotel for the iconic brand, founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper.

The hotel hosts 249 contemporary guest rooms and suites with views over the London skyline and features a Nobu Restaurant and Nobu Bar, a year-round terrace, 600-person ballroom, meeting spaces, fitness centre and wellness facilities.

Steps away from Marylebone’s independent boutiques and only moments from the world-renowned shopping districts of Oxford Street and Regent Street, it attracts guests for both business and leisure.

London based design practice David Collins Studio designed the hotel’s public spaces (including the lobby, The Lounge, Nobu Bar and Restaurant, outdoor terrace, ballroom and boardrooms) with Make Architects responsible for the design of the rooms and suites.

A total of 9,000 square metres of bespoke 80/20 hospitality carpets provide underfoot comfort and luxury throughout guestrooms and corridors at Nobu Hotel London Portman Square.

For the guestrooms, conceptual cues were taken from the traditional English garden of the adjacent Portman Square. They drew on the natural materials, textures and tranquillity of the urban oasis.

Carpets specified for the guestrooms are a bespoke variation on our sophisticated Connect Naturals stock collection with an additional texture to the background. Connect Naturals is a range of inspired geometric or basket weave designs which are also available to be recoloured in order to compliment a specific colour scheme.

For the corridors, a design inspired by oxidisation from the Patina collection in a bespoke colourway was specified to ensure a look faithful to the scheme. Both designs incorporate natural wools which is a great solution for environmentally friendly installations.

Sustainability is a big commitment at Newhey. Our secondary backing material is made from 100% recycled PET post-consumer plastic. Every square metre of our carpet prevents eight plastic bottles from going to landfill or entering our oceans – that’s a total of 72,000 plastic bottles for this project alone.
