Radisson Blu, Edinburgh

On a prominent spot overlooking Scotland’s capital city, the Radisson Blue, Edinburgh features three bespoke Newhey designed and manufactured carpets.

Designed to blend into the surrounding medieval architecture with its own 16th century façade, this elegant Radisson Blu hotel has benefitted from our design experience and manufacturing expertise.

We have been involved with the Radisson brand for a number of years and have worked on many hotel projects. On this occasion, we were delighted to work alongside Hertfordshire based designers Trevillion Interiors to create three bespoke carpets that would flow gracefully through the corridors, guestrooms, suites and also the meeting and breakout areas of the hotel.

Specifically, we created a simple texture in smokey green and grey shades for the guestrooms and suites. Splashes of yellow were introduced in the cushions to compliment the neutral scheme.

The main meeting areas required a more intricate design in neutral colours, depicting a street map of the city which looks stunning against the wall mural of Edinburgh Castle and the Scottish Pipe Band. Breakout areas feature a neutral, stylish geometric design with turquoise soft seating and hints of yellow on the tables, walls and floor lamps.

This project combined Newhey’s unique Colortec product for guestrooms and corridors. For the meeting rooms, we supplied a bespoke Axminster to accommodate specific design requirements involved in creating the stunning Edinburgh street map. This demonstrates Newhey’s versatility in offering multi-product solutions for projects of this nature ensuring that design, quality and budget can be catered for in the most practical and cost effective way.
