Newhey were appointed by DesignLSM, the interior design agency in charge of the restoration and design of this stunning hotel. Their overall aim was to retain and restore as much of the original architecture as possible in order to pay homage to the fascinating history of the building.
Over 6,400 square metres of luxurious bespoke 80/20 carpet was designed and manufactured for the public areas which include the Wedgwood & Charlbury Suites, Theatre, Late Lounge Bar, Atrium and public area corridors, fitted by Carters Flooring based in Derbyshire. In order to fulfil the brief, Newhey worked closely with DesignLSM to create various patterns which would complement the existing features of this magnificent building. Also designing a series of panelled carpets, strategically designed for each individual corridor, demonstrating the intricate planning and quantification service that Newhey can provide.
All designs were manufactured in heavy contract quality at 4 metres wide and with our sustainable secondary backing ‘evobac’ which is made using post consumer PET. This project alone prevented at least 51,000 plastic bottles from going to landfill or entering our oceans.

With multiple rooms to cover within the Grade II* Listed old house, they faced the challenge of finding suitable options to match all the different concepts with varying colour palettes within a short space of time and delivered great results for us, we would certainly be using them again!
