Hotel Savoy, Prague

Newhey created stunning carpet designs for a recent project, the Hotel Savoy, Prague – now one of the ‘Leading Small Hotels of the World’.

Adding to a rapidly expanding international portfolio, Hotel Savoy is one of Newhey’s most recent projects. Situated in the heart of the diplomatic area of Prague, the luxurious 5-star hotel has undergone an extensive refurbishment leading to the reconciliation of its original elegance.  It features 56 guestrooms and 6 suites.

Newhey worked in partnership with professional installers Barkotex, based in Prague, to create carpet designs to compliment the existing features of the hotel. The brief was to design and manufacture carpet for the restaurant, bar, lounge, library, corridors, guestrooms and suites with the goal of paying homage to the Art Nouveau styles of the hotel.

The designs flow beautifully through the hotel adopting the Art Nouveau style with a colourful palette of red, blue, green, yellow and gold. Inside you will find a host of guestrooms, suites and public areas rich with contemporary touches and traditional European styling. All carpets were supplied using Newhey’s Colortec tufting technology manufactured in the UK featuring high quality, 80% Wool / 20% Nylon, hank-dyed pile yarns.

All carpets manufactured by Newhey incorporate ‘evobac’, a secondary backing system which utilises 100% recycled plastic bottles. This environmentally friendly solvent-free thermoplastic technology creates an inseparable bond between the primary cloth and secondary backing. It also guarantees against delamination and has at least three times the bonding strength of a conventional latex backed product.
